Living with the B Class day to day.

Welcome to my automotive blog post. My reviews are based on ownership of the vehicle over a minimum period of two to three years and are honest daily use comments.
My B Class Review
The B Blass is in my opinion a mini MPV, it seats four adults comfortably and has a small centre seat in the rear that would suit a child.
The seating is fairly comfortable but not what i'd call the best Mercedes experience.
The luggage area (Boot) is large and useful, especially if your family dog is a large breed.
Standard equipment on the Sport CDi Model is good, The entertainment system has good sound quality and bluetooth as standard.
All windows are electric and drivers mirror are also electrically adjustable.
Overview
The drivers seat is a little rigid for my taste and my wife finds over prolonged use leads to backache. Cabin space is generous and leg room is good (i am 6ft tall),
Bodywork is good and showing no signs of age or rust.
The steering is very light but precise, handling is good even when fully loaded with four adults.
Safety features are as you would expect from Mercedes, front and side airbags are standard.
There are plenty of storage pockets and a small net storage in the passenger side footwell which is quite handy.
The steering wheel has controls for almost all functions of the entertainment system, phone and general driver aids.
Build quality is as you would expect from a premium brand but not quite as good as other models in the Brand catalogue.
Small things that let it down like the chrome trim on the gear knob and interior door handles starts to peel and when it does it is razor sharp. A replacement gear knob is over a hundred pounds, i didn't bother to ask about the door handles........
Looks and style are very Germanic, not pretty but functional.
There are a few small niggles if i was to be picky.....
1) Drivers seat pad worn thru very quickly (not what you'd expect from Mercedes)
2) Diesel engine is a little noisy compared to other similar brands
3) Interior chrome trim peels/wears leaving razor sharp edges
4) No Spare wheel.
6) Front steering joints replaced annually
7) Uses a litre of oil between services .....
The good points....
1) Fuel consumption 35-50 mpg
2) Parts are relatively inexpensive (if you avoid main dealers)
3) Brakes and general handling are superb
4) Reliability has been fantastic (compared to other brands owned)
5) Safety features are as good as any new car
